...every dollar raised goes directly to a Chad Scholar.

Launched in the Spring of 2011, the Roundtable convenes policy makers, parents, researchers, school practitioners, and members of the community to review data and reports designed to improve public schools. The Roundtable takes on a particular interest in identifying and supporting best practices known to yield positive achievement outcomes for students of color.

The Foundation commissions writers and researchers to produce policy papers on topics relevant to comprehensive school reform and efforts to close the achievement gap. Papers are reviewed and discussed by the roundtable participants during a half-day session facilitated by the Foundation. The aim is to reach consensus on strategies that enhance the quality of teaching and learning in traditional public schools.

Expanding college access

The Chad Scholars Program (CSP) provides scholarships to college-bound high school seniors in the Greater Newark Metropolitan Area.

The Chad School Foundation would be honored if you would support our Fifth Annual Chad Scholars Awards Reception. This year's reception will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 6pm to 8pm at the Crystal Room located in the Robert Treat Hotel in downtown Newark. Our theme this year, "Building Educational Wealth", celebrates the contributions of those who further the Chad legacy.

Tickets are $70 per person, and every dollar raised from the sale of tickets directly benefits the Chad Scholars Program, which provides $10,000 in scholarship money to a high-achieving, economically - disadvantaged student to attend a four-year college or university. Your contribution is essential. Since 2010, The Chad School Foundation has awarded over $250,000 in scholarships to support Newark area youth. Moreover, the Foundation has committed to increase the number of scholarship awards for 2017 so more students can realize their aspirations and fulfil the hope of the Newark community. Click on the Events tab for more information.

Students will be eligible to receive a four-year $10,000 award, payable in four annual installments of $2,500. Scholarship funds can be used for such educational purposes as tuition assistance, text books, and room and board.

Each Chad Scholar will be assigned a mentor selected from a pool of professionals, including alumni from the Chad School and Chad Science Academy. Chad Scholars will have an opportunity to enjoy the support of frequent contact with their mentors throughout the year.
